Reading 2 Timothy Ch2 embodied in a talk from Rev Nico Ohlsson given during the St.Georges SIX service on the 7th July 2019. Remember that God is faithful and always keeps his word, He has risen from the dead. He is real and is very active today. We are all different, but we are all called to use our life for God. God also has faith in us to pursue Him and pray and let Him do the works He wants to do through us.

Luke 11:14-28
Richard summarises Elijah's situation as a fugitive with a price on his head. Things look bleak, but then God tells him to meet Ahab and Jezebel - his persecutors. Ahab is more interested in his horses than his people suffering in the drought. Elijah meets the faithful Obadiah, who is scared to have to tell Ahab that Elijah wants to meet him. Being in God's hands is a safe place but not always a comfortable place. Elijah trusts God in difficult circumstances, we are to do the same trusting in His love.

Matthew 3:1-12
John continues the story of the prophet Elijah and poses the question what should be the prophetic ministry of the Church in today's society? Elijah's help from the poor widow shows that small acts of kindness matter and that a message of hope in dark and difficult times is essential. God's message to us all is that He will be with us always no matter how we feel. That is the message for us to repeat to society and follow it up with practical actions.
