Reading Luke ch3 v2-16 followed by a talk from Rev Nico Hilding Ohlsson given during the St Georges SIX service on the 17H March 2019. To repent is to change direction in thought and action in order to be the person God want us to be. Recognise that the life God has in store for us is better than our life so far. Be part of the Kingdom by immersing ourselves in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, following His leading to bring Love, Peace and Joy to make the world a better place.

Tim looks at both the OT and Gospel passages as they relate to repentance. He indicates that both membership of a faith community and commitment to God by ethical activity as well as word are needed to run in parallel. He indicates that John the Baptist's call for repentance looks for it to be accompanied by action. We all fall short of keeping God's law, we all need to heed the call for repentance as that is the means of forgiveness and restoration to a relationship with God through Jesus' saving grace.

Paul starts our Lent series by looking at the difference between Jesus and Judas. Judas sinned because he wanted things to go the way he wanted in opposition to God. Jesus in his temptations in the Desert was ready to let things go God's way even though Plan B (offered by Satan) was potentially alluring. Paul challenges us this Lent to resist the offers of Satan of material satisfaction, power and safety, however they are presented and trust God in the power of the Holy Spirit.
