Chris Grayling's talk to Mothers' Union

Over 100 people were present on Friday 26th February for our regular Mothers’ Union Branch meeting.

Our meeting started with midday prayers lead by Trish Heywood and Debbie Davenport gave a moving explanation of the reason for the start of Rianna’s Fund. Our speaker arrived at midday, and talked solidly without notes for over 30 minutes. Listen here. He touched on the subjects dear to our hearts – Youth work, family values, policing, impoverished Inner City life, drug abuse and a lack of care and good examples for children, who become trouble makers at an early age because there is nothing else to do and they have no role models.

The questions which followed were answered succinctly and with enthusiasm. At the end of the meeting, we felt we would be in a safe and caring pair of hands if he becomes Home Secretary.

Donations received during the morning amounted to a huge £300 which was split between Rianna’s Fund and Mothers’ Union Away From it All.
