A world wide commitment through the Anglican churches/dioceses in those countries
This month the Society prayer diary concentrates on Japan. We can this year give thanks for the 150th anniversary of the Anglican church in Japan. (Remember the visit of the Rev. David Busk with his charming Japanese wife and their two little ‘Angels’ to Ashtead?)
Pray for ...
- Children and young people who lack educational opportunities and employment. May they be encouraged with the love of Christ by their parents.
- For world peace and especially Japanese victims of the bombing of Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Okinawa.
- USPG Mission Companion Claire Gelder is teaching in Chubu Diocese; bless her contacts with the different life-style of those whom she teaches and those she meets in her leisure time.
- We here in the diocese of Guildford send our prayers and greetings by God’s grace to the eleven dioceses of the Anglican church in Japan.
- Other Christian denominations are present in Japan. We pray that, as our Lord prayed.. “we may be one”.
- Seminaries and theological colleges have been set up in Japan and we pray that a new generation of leaders will emerge, inspired to share God’s love.
