Houseparty 2012

An invitation from the Associate Rector Simon Butler

I’m delighted to invite you to the 6th Ashtead Parish Houseparty, to enjoy a time of rest, fellowship, encouragement, and thoughtful teaching. Building on the success of last time we’re returning to Latimer Place which was a great success. We hope you can join us!

Reverend David Bracewell

Our speaker this year is Reverend David Bracewell. David was Rector of St Saviour’s in Guildford for some 25 years before retiring last year. Along side his parish work, David taught ordinands at Ridley Hall in Cambridge and is a well known and respected speaker.

David will be guiding us through a short section of Acts as he explores what it means to be the worlds ‘Local Global Church’.

To re-iterate Bob’s invitation from the last Houseparty “This weekend is one of the best investments you can make as a member of our church family” and we look forward to welcoming you.

As David leads our main teaching sessions he will be encouraging us to engage with what it means for the people of God to live as the world’s local global church.   David will guide us through Acts 2:42-47 as we explore ‘The Church gathered’, ‘The Church scattered’, The Church rooted’, and ‘The Church overwhelmed’. Alongside the main teaching sessions there will be time to explore some issues in more depth in seminars, workshops and a late night ‘talking shop’.

New for this year will be the presence of two visiting Houseparty Chaplains who will be on hand to pray and talk one-on-one and offer spiritual direction.

There will of course be plenty of time for fun and relaxation with the now legendary ‘Ashtead’s Got Talent’, a Barn Dance, and a whole host of indoor and outdoor activities. We’ll have access to the indoor heated pool, the bars will be open, and with a full youth and children's programme what more can you ask for?!
