Wheels for the World update

Please pray for the wheelchair distribution team who headed out to Uganda on Wednesday 10th April for 10 days, including Gunn Fenn from our church.  The team will be working alongside partner agency RILD to help as many as 200 disabled people to be suited with appropriate disability aids: wheelchairs, crutches and walkers.  The locality this time is Mukono, a semi-rural area just outside Kampala. 

The team will also be training and encouraging the wider Christian Community to ensure that disabled people, who are often the most excluded, are accepted, welcomed and fully involved in church and community life locally and in developing countries.

News on Haiti.  January saw the arrival of 92 boxed kit wheelchairs received by the Haiti Hospital Appeal that was set up after the earthquake three years ago. Our partner in this is Motivation who are based near Bristol. The funding from Through the Roof (TTR) extended to the training of a local woman in Haiti, conducted by Motivation, in the fitting of wheelchairs to clients and the maintenance of the chairs.  Thank you again for all who supported our Haiti appeal.
