Offer yourself for service and the blessings will return.
Saturday morning was bright and sunny as our house group met to do a garden clearance for a single parent with five children. We prayed together that God would use us to witness for Him and to be doers of his Word.
After a friendly welcome and introductions adults and children set about the task to clear the garden. Three cars and a trailer were then loaded and it was off to the dump with one of the boys keen to help.
A few more trips, cutting the grass, trimming the hedges and hosing the patio and the garden was completely different.
Plans were made to hold a barbeque for a birthday party and friends invited around to see the new garden.
In between there were lots of conversations and questions from the young children as to who we were:
Are you all related?
Do you normally work with your husband?
Do you all believe in God?
In a few hours, the work was done we prayed with the family and received a thank you card. We left feeling blessed that we had done God’s work and He had used us this day.
Joy comes in giving and reaching out to meet the needs of other people.
We are all formed to serve God in some way. He has given us the strength, ability and power to do awesome works in His name.
