Beds, Beds, Beds....
The email from Dorking Besom said we have been offered 50 single beds. Do you want
some?
Yes it was true, and on a Friday morning the Besom van arrived together with the Dorking Besom van and Furnistore’s van at the British Transport Police training centre in Tadworth. The centre was in the process of closing down.
We chose the best beds and filled the van with :
7 Bed bases
10 Mattresses
New mattress covers, bed sheets, duvets, duvet covers, pillows, pillow cases.
Every space was filled and we returned to Ashtead wondering what we would do with it all as storage in our garages is limited.
Several phone calls and we were on to the first delivery.
A young family with a two year old girl and 6 month old baby. We delivered the bed with all the bedding which matched well with the decoration in the child’s room. Later the parents said how she loved her new bed and for the first time had slept right through the night. She didn’t want to get out of it.
We delivered the same at Leatherhead Pitstop for a young homeless woman who had just been housed.
Onto Fetcham where we were defeated by a narrow staircase preventing the bed base going upstairs, but we left a mattress for a young girl. Around the corner we replaced two bunk beds only fit for the dump for two young families who could not afford to replace them.
That night five young children slept in their own beds for the first time.
God had provided and done the matching.
