Wheels 4 Haiti

Chris Grayling MP came to Horton Golf Club on Friday 26th March to praise the work of our own locally based charity Wheels for the World. A large crowd filled the room to hear the Chief Executive of the charity explain the latest appeal. We all know that the devastation in Haiti is not going to be put right quickly. Buildings and bodies need rebuilding. Many have lost limbs or are paralised. Doctors and medical professionals are doing an amazing job BUT the need now is for mobility aids to get these children and adults mobile again.

Through the Roof can provide these much needed aids through their Wheels 4 Haiti campaign.” Said Mr Grayling. “For the relatively small sum of £40 a recycled and repaired wheelchair can be shipped to Haiti along with a professional who can fit the child and teach her how to use the chair.”

He went on to praise the charity and congratulate all those involved for their vision and perseverance in supporting this sort of programme throughout the developing world.

People crippled for life, in great need of mobility so that they can start to rebuild their lives will thank you for what you are doing. I thank you and support you in this appeal. Good Luck,” he said.
