Wheels 4 Haiti

Save £1 a day for the 40 days of Lent   Much of the initial giving to Haiti is for alleviating the immediate crisis. Longterm the problem is huge, and with so many leg injuries there is going to be an ongoing need for wheelchairs and medical professionals to assist in fitting and advice.   “We are Desperate for Wheelchairs” says the charity ‘Food for the Poor’ based in Haiti at this desperate time.   Through the Roof is fully equipped to do this with the Wheels for the World programme. Re-cycled wheelchairs that would have been put into land fill sites will be renovated by British Prisoners who refurbish them to a very high standard.   Wheels for the World will be distributing 200 wheelchairs to Haiti, fitted by a team of professional therapists.   If you would like to sponsor a wheelchair by saving £1 a day for the 40 days of Lent, please email Karen Goodridge.   If you would like to hold a fundraising event please let Karen know.
