Rianna's Fund Uganda Update

|
For Rianna’s Fund March 2008 saw the opening of the new Nakulabye Junior School in Kampala. On a visit the previous year to Uganda it highlighted the desperate need for a new school for the children of Nakulabye.
The previous school was is a shocking state and difficult to imagine 80 or more children crammed into the dilapidated classrooms. One year on a very different story, what a difference!

A team from Rianna’s Fund was delighted to join in the celebrations at the official opening of the school, which has over 640 pupils.
It was wonderful to see the school completed and to see the children enjoying their new classrooms and facilities.
The children send there heart felt thanks for their new community school.

Another project Rianna’s Fund has been supporting in Uganda is a ‘Child Headed Families’ project run by a rural church called the Centre For Evangilism.
A child headed family is a family raised by the eldest child often only in their early teens themselves. Sometimes looking after as many as five younger siblings.
Rianna’s Fund has been able to help some families by supporting them through school, providing provisions like cooking utensils

and sometimes livestock to generate an income. The children have lost their parents and now with help, these young families can receive the support that they need to enable them to stay together as a family.
Rianna’s Fund is now able to support many children. We hope the future will provide many more opportunities to help more children. It’s been a privilege to see the difference that Rianna’s Fund has been able to make to many children’s lives and we would like to thank everyone for their generous support.
